Abstract

About 700 Persian manuscripts have been preserved in the Oriental collection of Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts. Among them are poetry, history, collections of various contents, epistolary literature, lexicology, medicine, fiction, religion and Sufism, astronomy, poetics, ethics, geography, grammar, philosophy, alchemy, travel, even sports, etc. The chronological boundaries of the manuscripts cover the 14th-19th centuries. Manuscripts of the Persian collection are marked as follows: PK, PL, and PAC.

The article deals with the Persian manuscripts preserved in the Oriental collection of Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts (except the historical documents) and their historical, cultural, social, and educational significance. In addition, the album of Persian manuscripts prepared at the National Centre of Manuscripts is presented.
